METHODOLOGICAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Texts on financial law and tax law in English as well as financial and tax normative legal
acts in English contain professional terminology and scientism. At that difficulty has fixed
collocations they are absent in the majority of specialised dictionaries, or are proposed in a
household variant whereas is necessary the juridical variant.The overwhelming majority of fixed
collocations cannot be translated literally into Russian.
Pretty often in dictionaries there are no accents, that considerably complicates mastery and
understanding of Russian.
The methods handbook is created in the form of the glossary and English and English-
Russian dictionary of specialised legal terms, which is intended for a correct translation of texts on
financial and tax law, published in English. The dictionary contains the base professional
terminology and scientism including juridical fixed collocations.
The methods handbook can be also used while translating on Russian of other educational
and scientific literature of financial and economic character, as well as corresponding federal laws
and other normative legal acts in English.
The glossary in English is necessary to puersons who do not know Russian, but understand
English language.
The methods handbook is in university library on the p-books and is on the university site
(http://www.vvsu.ru) in the electronic form.
Before the dictionary are located the alphabets formed by the author English alphabet with
transcription and Russian alphabet with transcription. Thus in Russian alphabet the correct
pronunciation of each letter is guaranteed by an English word in which the letter is emphasised by a
boldfaced type.

All English words in the dictionary are located in alphabetical arrangement.
Each word with all material related to it, forms an independent dictionary entry.
Headwords are emphasised by a boldfaced type.
All headwords have a phonetic transcription, which is put in square brackets directly after a
word. Phonetic cleanliness of English and Russian is guaranteed by means of a transcription and
accents.
Separate terms have detailed definitions and explanations, with use of author's ideas and
concepts.

The pronunciation is given on system of the International Phonetic Alphabet.
The accent is designated by italics, and in a transcription is designated by an apostrophe
before a tone syllable
A colon in a transcription marks the long vowel.
Below a headword stated the fixed collocations, in which is used the headword.
The semicolon separates words or the groups of words having different significance.
Synonyms are listed by a number.
Geographic names are accompanied by brief information across Russia.
At foreign words their origin is underlined.
If in the dictionary are used canonical abbreviations they are necessarily deciphered.
